Why do we need a tip line?

Students sometimes stay quiet because they’re afraid of retaliation. SafeOregon lets them report concerns anonymously or confidentially, so they can speak up safely. They can send tips through the website, text, email, phone, or the mobile app. Every report helps keep schools safer.

What should we be reporting?

Anything that makes a student feel unsafe—like threats, fights, drugs, weapons, bullying, sexual harassment, intimidation, or self-harm—can be reported. Students should feel confident speaking up when they see something concerning or know someone who needs help.

Where do the tips go?

Specially trained technicians receive tips 24/7, yearround. They gather key details and pass the information to designated school staff, and contact law enforcement if the situation is serious.

هل يحل هذا محل المكالمات إلى 9-1-1؟

No, always dial 9-1-1 in any emergency!

However, If you call with a tip and the technician thinks it’s turning into an emergency, they’ll connect you to 911 right away. These technicians are trained to recognize when someone is in crisis and know how to help in urgent situations.

الإبلاغ الكاذب

Misusing SafeOregon is against the law (ORS 165.570), and police may get involved if someone sends in a false report. Fake tips also take time away from helping students who really need support. Use SafeOregon responsibly so everyone can stay safe.
