Parent Resources: A safe learning environment is essential for student success. SafeOregon is a statewide tip line for reporting school safety threats and gives students another way to reach school administrators. Parents and community members can also use the tip line, though adults are encouraged to contact the school or law enforcement directly when possible. SafeOregon is available to anyone who isn’t sure where to report a threat.
Why do we need a tip line system?
Students often hesitate to report concerns for fear of retaliation. SafeOregon helps by allowing anonymous or confidential reports from any phone or internet‑connected device, ensuring information is shared without revealing the tipster’s identity.
Who receives the tips?
Specially trained technicians handle tips 24/7, year‑round, for all public schools from Pre‑K through 12th grade.
What happens to the tips?
Technicians handle the immediate situation, then send the tip to the school’s designated contacts (and law enforcement if needed). Because tips vary, the follow‑up will too.
Note: SafeOregon tips are confidential, so reporters usually do not receive updates.
